Leaders with experience and commitment
SpringShire will be overseen by a voluntary board of directors that includes several prominent members of the Greenville community. This board of Eastern North Carolinians has hired Retirement Living Associates, Inc. of Raleigh to spearhead the development and management of the community.
David Ammons, the president of RLA, Inc., has more than 30 years of experience in managing and developing communities. He and his team are intimately involved in the success of this community. Mr. Ammons and his team at RLA, Inc. represent decades of experience in the development and management of top quality senior living communities throughout the Southeast, including Springmoor in Raleigh.

Valerie Gostele, Director of Marketing at SpringShire is originally from Chicago and brings her experience from a Continuing Care Retirement Community to NC. She has a compassion for helping older adults, having worked over eight years guiding families through the moving process.Valerie looks forward to reaching out to future residents to select a place to call home. |

Seth Talley is a Sales Counselor at SpringShire. Seth is from Chocowinity, NC and enjoys spending time with his family on the water there. He has a great deal of experience helping older adults make decisions, and he looks forward to meeting with prospects and learning about their individual needs. |

Grayson Blake is a Sales Counselor at SpringShire. Grayson is from Rocky Mount, NC and has a Masters degree from East Carolina University. Her past experience in sales and marketing makes her the perfect person for this role, and she is looking forward to meeting our prospective residents and helping them with this decision. |

Jamie Carraway is a Sales Assistant at SpringShire. She is a native of Greenville, NC. Jamie enjoys spending time with her family especially her two daughters, Leah and Lilly Ann. She brings with her several years of experience in Healthcare and Human Resources. She is looking forward to assisting the team and meeting the future residents of the SpringShire Community. |
Board of Directors
 Mr. Ernest Carraway is an attorney in Raleigh, and he is originally from Greenville. He has maintained strong business and personal ties to Eastern North Carolina through his own efforts as well as through his parents who lived in Greenville for many years. Mr. Carraway serves on the Springmoor Life Care Community Board of Directors and on the Springmoor Endowment Fund Board of Directors. He has extensive experience through this role with challenges and joys of leading a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Mr. Carraway also has a great deal of experience in policy formulation, management direction, and legal evaluations.
Roger received his Master’s degree in public health from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Master of Science degree in physical therapy administration from the Medical College of Virginia-Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy, also from the Medical College of Virginia-Virginia Commonwealth University. Roger enjoys traveling, reading, golfing and outdoor activities.
She has served Oakmont Baptist Church since May of 1994, and has previously served on the Board of Directors for CareNet Counseling East and on the Board of Ministers of Campbell University. Beth has been married to Tommy Thompson for 35 years and has one son, Bo, who died in 2005. She enjoys reading, traveling, playing bridge. |
Dr. Bob Deyton and his former medical partner, Dr. Ed Clement, were instrumental is starting the SpringShire Retirement Community in Greenville. Dr. Deyton was born and raised in Raleigh, and his mother was a resident at Springmoor for many years, and he was highly impressed with her experience there. He was certain that Greenville needed a retirement community of the Springmoor caliber, and he worked with David Ammons and the Retirement Living Associates, Inc. team to make this happen. Dr. Deyton completed his undergrad and medical training at Duke University, and moved to Greenville with his wife, Yvonne, shortly after medical school. Greenville has been his home ever since, and he has raised his family here and built a successful OB-GYN practice. Dr. Deyton continues to be involved with retired medical groups around town and with his church, First Presbyterian Church. He looks forward to living at SpringShire and being able to spend time with many of his old friends in town and also meeting the many new people coming to the community.
Roger Robertson works for Vidant Health as the President of Vidant Community Hospitals. He has more than 39 years of experience in healthcare in a variety of clinical and administrative roles, and has been with Vidant Health for over 29 years as a department manager, administrator, and executive. Roger serves on a number of boards both with Vidant Health and in the community.
Rev. Beth M. Thompson is the Associate Pastor of Oakmont Baptist Church. A native of Greenville, NC, she grew up in Smithfield. She graduated from Campbell University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served churches in Roanoke, VA; Pensacola, FL; Roswell, GA, Tarboro, NC and Greenville.
